THE CRAFT
The ceramics are handcrafted in the USA using techniques rooted in Italian ceramic tradition. The glazes are built through close collaboration with the artisans—adjusted, reconsidered, pushed until the surface does something unexpected.
The Venetian glass lamps are mouth-blown in Venice by master artisans who practice one of the most revered and protected traditions in the world. These are generational families whose craft has been passed down and fiercely protected for eight hundred years. Each lamp carries the subtle variation of a human hand at work.
Designed to function as both lighting and art, each Festoni Lamp comes with a built-in dimmer, considered hardware, and a custom base choice. The details that make a lamp perform are given the same attention as the details that make it beautiful.

MICHELLE & JEFF
Michelle and Jeff Foutch are parents to four—Jeff's two grown daughters, and together a son finishing college this spring and daughter who just started. When their younger daughter chose to attend The American School in Switzerland in Lugano, Switzerland, the house went quiet earlier than expected.
They filled the void with consistent travel to Lugano and Venice.
The Foutches have spent years learning this part of the world through its food, its people, its back roads, and its wine. Barolo and Barbaresco. Truffle season in Alba. Boat rides across the lagoon to Murano at all hours. They have joined Save Venice as committed believers in the artisan community that makes the work possible.
Michelle is a Georgetown-trained linguist, fluent in French and Spanish and now learning Italian. She still belongs to a book club in Lugano and knows exactly which train gets her to Venice fastest. Beautiful objects with a sense of place mean more to Michelle than most—things that embody from where they come. When the opportunity to buy Festoni presented itself, it felt destined.
